Lauren Schissler (B.S. '22, Civil Engineering) and Alejandro Fernandez (B.S. '24, Civil Engineering), who both play trumpet for the Illini Marching Band, share what makes Newmark Civil Engineering Lab, the new Kavita and Lalit Bahl Smart Bridge and an addition to the Hydrosystems Laboratory so special as they offer you a tour of these spaces. "I feel the most at home at Newmark, especially with this bridge; just looking around, it resembles everything I want to do in my major," says Fernandez.
