Operational Technology (OT) refers to systems used to monitor events, processes, and devices, and to make adjustments in industrial operations. As these systems and networks converge with enterprise IT, it's imperative that IT personnel understand the business, cultural, and technical drivers that make OT different. This talk will focus on some of these differences, as well as examples of OT within the UIUC campus.
Casey O'Brien, Information Trust Institute; David Emmerich, Information Trust Institute
Participants will gain an understanding of the main differences between IT and OT systems, including the backgrounds of the operators, desired system characteristics, OT systems life cycle, and the OT business drivers and culture.
